Baybayin Doesn’t Work In the New Internet Explorer 9

Recently, Mozilla Firefox released it’s newest update, which is the Firefox 4 and Internet Explorer too, which is IE 9. And as nerd as I could get, I was all excited to try both of them and wishing that Baybayin would still work in Firefox and would start to work in IE. I tried Firefox first, and Oh mee gosh! Wow! It’s so pretty and neat! Then I immediately went here to see if Baybayin is working, and it does! Woohoo! Firefox, you’re awesome!

Then I tried IE next and did the same thing… but I was super duper disappointed to see…. NOTHING! As in nothing! Not even those empty boxes or those questions marks, nothing! You can’t even highlight it!

It annoys me because Filipinos who doesn’t know Baybayin, wouldn’t even see boxes! So they won’t be as curious as before to know what’s in there. It’s like, it doesn’t even exist!

But at first, I was calm down and tried putting a Baybayin font as my default font, but it still didn’t work.

Another thing that annoys me is that, why doesn’t it work in a NEWER and “UPDATED” version of IE? In the old one, at least you can see it if you set the default font as Baybayin even though there’s still some small problems.

I would say, the old IE(8) is better… way better!

Mozilla Firefox FTW!

We Baybayin Enthusiasts loves you!
