I made a short guide on how to write Baybayin. But this is only for beginners… (I think)
I wish they would understand because I put examples on what’s right and what’s wrong… so yeah
I mentioned this on my last blogpost because someone searched for this guide in my wordpress, so I got the idea on making one! What a genius person yeah? Lol ahaha ![]()
Anyways, hope that this helps!!
can you write my name “JAYSON” and my son “JARRELL ETHAN” on baybayin script?
Jayson = Dye-y-so-n = ᜇ᜔ᜌᜒᜌ᜔ᜐᜓᜈ᜔
= Dya-y-so-n = ᜇ᜔ᜌᜌ᜔ᜐᜓᜈ᜔ (Depending on how you pronounce your name)
I used “Dye” and “Dya” as there is no specific letter for “J” in baybayin and these are roughly its equivalent.
Jarrell Ethan = Dya-re-l E-ta-n = ᜇ᜔ᜌᜍᜒᜎ᜔ ᜁᜆᜈ᜔
= Dya-re-l I-ta-n = ᜇ᜔ᜌᜍᜒᜎ᜔ ᜁᜆᜈ᜔ (Still the same in baybayin)
I used “Ta” instead of “Tha” for “Ethan” because there is no specific equivalent for this letter in baybayin.
If you’re going to use this for a tattoo, please ask kuya Christian Cabuay or someone that really does translations as I’m not really an expert in this
Thank you! I did my best ^_^
thank you so much. ive been trying to reach kuya christian hoping for his reply. thank you once again.
No problem
I’m glad that I could help somehow
this is the version of kuya christian cabuay, jayson = diyeson ᜍᜒᜌᜒᜐᜓᜈ᜔, jarrel = diyarel ᜍᜒᜌᜍᜒᜎ᜔, ethan = etan ᜁᜆᜈ᜔
which is which?
It’s up to you which one you want to use whether my version or kuya Christians. It’s better if you learn Baybayin and write your own translation of your name so that you are happy with it.
I think there is no “right” or “wrong” translation as it only depends on how you pronounce your name and how you want to write it in Baybayin
It’s really your decision
i know a little on how to write a baybayin, but in my thoughts i dont wanna make mistake on my planning to have a tats that why i consult first:( . Animevenus93 your the one who gave the idea on “J sounds” with Kuya Cyph at thebathalaproject.com. do you have any contact with kuya cyph?
Sorry for late reply.. For some reason I didn’t see this in my dashboard.
I’m so sorry ^_^
And no, I don’t have any contact with kuya Cyph. Sorry about that

its ok. thanks again. it helps me a lot to find ways to have my name and my sons name in baybayin/alibata. thank you thank you so much
You’re very welcome
It’s good to see more and more Filipinos getting into Baybayin
And you’re welcome anytime!
how do you translate jannel in alibata?? closest translation since i think there is no J in alibata
Just to let you know that I’m not a professional in this so I’m going to translate using my knowledge, however, if you’re going to put this on your skin (tattoo), please ask a person that really does translations
Jannel = Di-ya-ne-l = ᜇᜒᜌᜈᜒᜎ᜔
I used “Diya” for “Ja” as this can be used as “J”
For example
We spell “Dyan”, but pronounce it as “Jan”.
try this one http://baybayintranslation.com its from kuya christian cabuay.
Thanks for the help
