More about “Sila”
In Azula’s world, mythical creatures do exist but humans tend to think that this is only a myth as it was said earlier.Yes, Gods and demonic spirits dwell in this world and even Diwata (fairies)
Bathala (God) wanted a messenger or a helper for his job, so he created Diwata. Diwata are pure and are good spirits. They follow God’s orders and commands and sends out messages to different parts of the world. They can also use different kinds of magic and spells, but they don’t use this for bad deeds unless it is ordered by Bathala.
It is completely forbidden to attack and eat humans if you are a mythical creature because you are in a completely different realm. If ever you did eat a human or harm them, there is a heavy punishment for this. But even though this is the only rule, some still harm and devour humans to their pleasure so Bathala ones again created a creature that will keep this rule in place and followed and they are called Tagabantay (Guardian). Tagabantay are also Diwata, but they are born with special abilities and a direct connection to Bathala. There are only 4 Tagabantay in the world for there are 4 kingdoms of Diwata in each direction. The 4 kingdoms are called “Kinang”, “Kislap”, “Kintab” and “Kisap”.
Tagabantay are born with black eyes and black hair. They are completely different from normal Diwata because no Diwata has black eyes and black hair. So they are completely recognized when they are born with these features. And also, usually, Tagabantay are males because they have a very dangerous job and females are very rare. It is so rare that in the 9 generations of Tagabantay, there were only 2 females. It was Kidlat and Amihan, they both died in a fight but they survived longer than any other Tagabantay.
In the present, one Tagabantay is born and it’s a female. The mother didn’t like this so she turned her daughter into a human. This was forbidden and if done, something would happen to the ones who said the spell. When the group of Diwata found the scene, they didn’t find the Tagabantay and the mother.
This story is all written in Baybayin (Ancient Script of the Philippines). This would not be translated in English or into latin characters.
I’m not really a professional writer and I only write stories like this for fun. I’m sorry for bad grammar and low quality
I hope you still enjoy the story. I also don’t have an editor and an artist to draw the characters and stuff, but I do have myself. I read over my story 2 times to make sure there are not spelling mistake (but sometimes it’s not use) and I’m an artist as well so I sometimes draw for my novel but this is rare because I’m such a procrastinator. But I know that drawings would make this more fun. I’ll try my best to make your experience in reading “Sila” more fun and exciting
